Company Joins athenahealth’s “More Disruption Please” Accelerator Program

Patient IO, the only care coordination solution that can be integrated with virtually any healthcare software system, today announced a strategic investment by athenahealth® to expand Patient IO’s platform through athenahealth’s More Disruption Please (MDP) program. Today, healthcare organizations depend on Patient IO to coordinate care for tens of thousands of patients. athenahealth’s investment will be used to grow Patient IO’s platform and drive adoption across athenahealth’s growing network of more than 72,000 healthcare providers.

By providing tools that empower patients to take a more active role in their care and treatment, Patient IO has become a go-to solution for managing chronic illness, reducing readmissions and reducing unnecessary doctor visits.

Patient IO has shown considerable growth since raising $1.5M in a previous seed round led by Mercury Fund, with participation from Techstars Ventures, RPM Ventures & Geekdom Fund. Patient IO will use this new funding to expand product development. As part of the investment, Patient IO will be joining athenahealth’s MDP Accelerator program, which recently launched its third location in Austin, TX.
